Dr. Robert Farley, Chair
Dr. Robert Farley is a retired Family Physician and a founding member of the Stuart Ross and Lillian Marie Kelly Foundation. He has served with many other community organizations including the Brantford Hospital Foundation as past chair and Chief of Staff of the Brantford General Hospital. He is currently the Board Vice-Chair of Participation House Brantford. He is an active church worker, an ardent golfer and is a longstanding member of the Brantford Memorial Concert Band .
Terry Bateson, Treasurer
Terry Bateson, C.A. T.E.P., graduated from B.C.I. & V.S. in 1963 and then joined the Chartered Accountants Firm Millard, Rouse & Rosebrugh LLP, obtaining his C.A. degree in 1969. In 1971 he was made a Partner of the firm and continues to work actively in that role. Outside activities include a term as President of the Brantford and District C.A. Association, the Brant Curling Club and the Brant Waterways Foundation. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Brantford/Brant Chamber of Commerce and the Brantford Golf and Country Club.
Scott Lyons, Secretary
Scott Lyons is President of Extend Communications Inc., a nationally ranked call centre and telephone answering company, headquarted in Brantford. In addition to his work with the BCF, Scott is active in several industry and local volunteer organizations and has served as President of the Canadian Call Management Association, President of Brantford/Brant Chamber of Commerce, President Rotary Club of Brantford, Board Member of the Professional Inbound Network, and Board member of Lansdowne Children's Centre.
Sharon Binning
Sharon Binning is a partner at the law firm of Waterous Holden Amey Hitchon LLP. Sharon has served on various boards and committees. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, The Canadian Bar Association, the Brant Law Association and the Brant Haldimand-Norfolk Collaborative Family Law Group. Sharon received an L.L.B from the University of Birmingham (U.K) in 1996 and obtained an LL.B Accreditation at the University of Toronto in 1998. Sharon was called to the Bar in 2000.
Craig Newsome
Craig Newsome leads the innovative design work of MMMC Architects. He has been associated with MMMC since his graduation from the University of Toronto Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Architecture in 1986. Craig provides leadership to many of the firm’s major projects combining his design, management and public facilitation skills and his experience in adapting older buildings to new uses buildings is extensive. He is Principal in Charge for Laurier Brantford’s Research & Academic Centre that is currently under construction. Craig is a long time resident of Brantford and resides in the city with his wife and their two school-aged children.
Jean Anderson, Vice Chair
Jean Anderson is a retired Nursing Manager with the Brant County Health Unit. Has been and continues to be involved with many community organizations including Past Chair of the Brant County Board of Education, Past chair of the Board of Governors of the Brantford General Hospital, Past President of the Brantford General Hospital Foundation and Past Chair of the Board of Referees of the Employment Insurance Commission. As well as serving with the Brant Community Foundation Jean is currently a Director of the Arnold Anderson Sports Access For Youth Fund.
Doug Bowman
Doug is currently the CEO of J.P. Bowman Limited. He is a Past President of the Brantford-Brant Chamber of Commerce and an Honorary Director of the Landsdowne Children's Centre. He also served as Director of the Rotary Club of Brantford and the Brantford Flying Club. Doug is married to Jayne and they have four children and six grandchildren. They enjoy boating and cottaging as leisure activities.
Dean Braund
Dean N. Braund is the CEO of Williams Coffee Pub Inc., a franchise based, fast casual restaurant concept. Dean holds over 20 years of experience in the service sector, founding Ardency Corporation, a Brantford-based entrepreneurial company with a diverse portfolio and over 600 employees. Dean has won various awards for his endeavours, including Canadian Franchisee of the Year and Brant County Entrepreneur of the Year. Support is also given financially and through community involvement to Big Brothers/Sisters; Friends of the Firefighters; Red Cross; CNIB; Adoption Foundation to name a few. Dean spends his after hours with his wife Patsy and their two children Evan and Alanah.
Dorothy Campbell
Dorothy Campbell attended MacDonald Institute in Guelph receiving a BHSc degree from the University of Toronto. She taught Home Economics in high schools in Fergus and Guelph. In 1960, she and her husband Bill, moved to Brantford. She is a past director of Brant Waterways, a past member of the Queensway Hand Bell Choir, and played the organ for Rotary's Lobsterfest several times. They have two children.
Melodie Daboll
Melodie Daboll is the Chair of the Grants Committee, BCF. She was previously the first Chair of the local Trillium Grant Review Team. Now retired, Melodie was co-owner of the Brantford Bookworm for over twenty years. Other volunteer involvements over many years include Brant Animal Aid Foundation, past president Brantford Symphony Orchestra Association, Brantford Library Board, past president Brant Waterways Foundation, past president Brantford University Women's Club, Brant: Women in Action, St. Andrew's United Church choir.
Lorrie Gallant
Lorrie Gallant is a writer, children's author, illustrator, storyteller, visual artist, singer and songwriter. Born and raised on the Six Nations Reserve, Lorrie now lives in Brantford with her daughters Carley and Holly and her husband Raymond Gallant with whom she co-owns and operates Al Dente Restaurant and Wine Bar. Lorrie is an active member of the First Nations Singers/Songwriters & Producers Guild, the Six Nations Writers, The Creative Minds Team, fundraising committee for The Northern Thunder Aboriginal Performing & Theatre Arts Centre and has served on the Board of The Chiefswood Historical Site. Lorrie works for the Woodland Cultural Centre's Arts Access Project, G.E.M.FEST and Community Builders Youth Leadership.
John Huigenbos
John Huigenbos has been involved with many community groups during his 30 years as a practicing veterinarian. After retiring 5 years ago, he continued to be involved in the building and development business. His present community work is largely with the Brant Community Foundation and political leadership.
